The Table
The two-top in the corner was my preferred spot. The round, plastic, folding table was dressed up with a green table cloth and a funky blue, pink, and white scarf spread on top. The chairs were just as much of an incongruity: one metal frame with a cane seat, the other a classic wooden kitchen chair. A little grey-metal teapot lamp sat on the edge of the table, providing just the right amount of illumination. The randomness made everything work. It is the perfect spot for tea, lunch, and laughs with a friend.
There were plenty of other great tables at Tea Bar and Bites, but this was the best one: the one I ran to lunch early to claim and the wait staff held if they knew we were coming. I always sat with my back to the wall, she with her back to the door. The creaking floor boards, clinking of miss-matched China, and murmur of conversation provided the perfect background music. A perfectly calming chaotic collection.
